FAQs

How do I care for my natural wax candle?

As with all candles, the first burn is the most important. We recommend burning your candle for a minimum of two hours to allow for a full wax pool (when the top layer of your candle is completely melted) and no longer than four hours in one sitting. This timing also gives your candle time to infuse their aromatic scent your room.
Failure to do this could lead to tunneling , creating a memory ring, where the wax will continue its burn pattern through a smaller section of the wax.
After your first burn, trim your wick to 5mm to avoid 'mushrooming' of the wick.

Are your products suitable to use around animals/pets?

The noses of our furry friends can be even more sensitive than ours and as a result, some animals may react in different ways to the fragrance oils found in our candles. If you have any further questions, we would recommend reaching out to your vet.

What wax do you use in your candles?

We don't believe in 'one size fits all' when it comes to the wax in our candles. We spend hours upon hours testing the perfect combination of wick, fragrance and wax to ensure the optimum scent release. But rest assured, all of our waxes are natural waxes sourced from sustainable sources- our favourites include; soy, rapeseed & coconut.

How long can I store your candle for?

We recommend it is best to use your candle within 6 months of purchasing from us. After that, the scent may degrade.

Where can I see the ingredients for each candle?

When you visit the product page for each candle, the ingredients should be clearly identifiable. If you're still having probems, or want to ask us anything else, feel free to contact us at hello@thefloralab.com

What do you mean by zero waste?

As a company, we're committed to zero waste- it makes sense, as we're here to celebrate the earth, not to trash it. Now as a small business, we try to take the large steps which many of the big businsses are failing on. All of our products and postal packaging are designed to be reuseable, recyclable or refillabe. We only work with reputable suppliers to ensure our ingredients quality is the highest possible as well as being sourced from sustainable farms. We also are continually working with our existing suppliers for innovative ideas we can bring to enhance the environmental experience.

What oils do your candles contain?

Our current collection of candles contain fragrance oils, but watch this space, as we will be launching new collections very soon.
